How to Find Search Engine Keywords for Your eHow Articles

Find Search Engine Keywords for Your eHow Articles

Keywords may appear to have different definitions depending on what you do with them. Keywords are words or phrases submitted to a search engine in an effort to locate relevant content or websites. From us eHow writers' perspective, keywords are the words or phrased we enter as tags that are closely linked to the content of our subject. They determine how easily our content can be found on the web that in turn translates to how many views we can generate. Thus finding keywords for your eHow articles is very critical.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1
    Free keyword selection tool

    Free keyword selection tool

There are numerous softwares and tools out there for this purpose, some are free, others come with a price tag. Since we only make peanuts for the time we spend on writing, anything free is always my top choice. Here is one site I prefer the most. It's easy to use, and no software to download. http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/

  2. Step 2

Simply enter a word you think that represents your content the best and click submit. It will show you the frequency of the word being searched. The higher the number, the better. For the best result, this word should be included in your title. My original title for this article is "How to Choose the Best Keywords for Your ehow Article". After entering keyword, I realized it didn't have high enough search index. I entered search engine and got a much better result. Thus a new title was born.

  3. Step 3

You can enter multiple keywords for your article. If the frequency number is not too high, then you need to think outside the box. For example, you are trying to promote an article on how to make chocolate cookies. You enter chocolate cookies, the return is only 525; if you enter cookies, and you will get 1608. In this case, you will definitely want to include cookies in your keywords. Experiment with different words and concepts. Mexican Food vs. Mexican Recipes, keyword vs. keywords, market vs. marketing. You will get the idea.

  4. Step 4

Another way is to use a google search window. Just start typing your assumed keyword and you will see a drop dwon list of frequently searched words or phrases.

  5. Step 5
    Search engine ads

    Search engine ads

They are also some specific words or phrases that are sold to advertisers by the owner of search engines such as Google, Yahoo etc.. If you pay attention to these words and try to embed them in your articles, you will get higher paid ads.
