Keep Kids From Getting Sick
Keep Kids From Getting Sick

Children get sick on average 10 - 12 times a year. Reducing the number of times your children come down with illness a year by 50% would drastically decrease doctors bills, children's time away from pre-school or school, and parent's time away from work. Below are a few simple methods for reducing the number of times your child will get sick a year, as well as preventing further illness.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sinus Irrigation Solutions
  • Immune Booster Supplement
  • Daily Chewable Vitamin
  1. Step 1
    Vitamins

    Vitamins

During breakfast each morning, provide your children a multivitamin supplement and immune booster supplement. The Flintstones 20 Nutrients in 1 chewable tablets are a great vitamin source for kids ages 2 and above. LilCritters Immune C Plus Zinc & Echinacea is also a very good supplement for boosting your kids immune system. Any kids multivitamin will be sufficient, and a low dose supplement of vitamin c and zinc is all that is needed to charge up your children's immunity.

  2. Step 2
    Sinus Rinse

Another critical step in being proactive towards your children's health is to use a Nasal Irrigation Rinse daily. There are many varieties of Nasal Irrigation Rinses on the market, ranging from pre-mixed solutions, to the NeilMed System and Neti Pot. All these products work the same way. The easiest one I have found to use with kids is the NeilMed Nasal Rinse system that comes with the squeeze bottle and ready to mix packages. Fill up the bottle, mix the salt packet, shake, and the rinse is ready to go. Even a 3 year old can use the bottle to slowly rinse out their sinus passages effectively.

  3. Step 3
    Hand Sanatizer

Last, and probably the most obvious step, is to make sure you wash your children's hands on a regular basis. Most importantly before meals or snacks. This will prevent any germs from directly entering the nasal or mouth areas. Using hand sanitizer while in the car or away from a restroom or sink is an excellent way to keep kids from spreading and obtaining germs as well.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to show your children how to use the Nasal Rinse System first. It is important to tech them to apply slow pressure to the bottle, and not force the water through their nose too quickly. This will prevent the solution from going down their throat or getting into the inner ear cavity.
