Got gray? Want to look natural again? Try these simple steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • hair color
  1. Step 1
    me, without the gray...YIPEE!

The first thing to do is to chose a color formula that is either ONE shade lighter or the same shade as your natural hair. Anything darker than your own hair will make all of your hair darker and this may not be the look you want. Color that is one shade lighter will not affect the natural color UNLESS you are a cool medium brown and you use a warm medium brown to color your hair.
**Take note that some gray hair is RESISTANT. In this case, please see a professional colorist.

  2. Step 2

Apply the color and process according to manufacturers instructions. Keep in mind to watch the timing. Follow the timing instructions very well. Keeping color on for extra time may be a waste as hair color stops working/processing at the end of the manufacturers suggested timing.

  3. Step 3

Dry the hair to see the 'true' results. Wet hair appears darker than dry hair. Retouch as needed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Follow manufacturers directions!!
  • Don't use a color that is darker than your own hair.
