How to cook Gołąbki (stuffed cabbage) cabbage rolls

The world's best and easiest Gołąbki(stuffed cabbage)

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Two large heads of cabbage,
  • Three lbs of hamburger (venison also works)
  • 1 lbs of ground pork
  • 1 onion
  • 1 lb bacon
  • 2-3 family size cans of cambell's tomato soup
  • 1 1/2 cups of rice
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of bread crumbs
  1. Step 1

    Cut bottom off of cabbage and place in boiling water in a large stock pot.

  2. Step 2

    Fry bacon, then chop into small slivers
    Parboil rice. remove and set aside

  3. Step 3

    Chop onion, mix up ground beef and pork, bacon,rice, chopped onion with two medium eggs and 3/4 cup of bread crumbs.

  4. Step 4

    Add a dash of salt, then about a tbs of pepper and a tbs of garlic powder.
    Mix everything well.

  5. Step 5

    When cabbage is pliable, remove from water and drain. Carefully separate individual leaves. Put outer leaves to the side and use the inner leaves

  6. Step 6

    Make balls of the meat mixture ( between a golf ball and a tennis size is perfect.

  7. Step 7

    Place a thin amount of tomato soup in the bottom of a large over fryer.
    Put large outer leaves on bottom of pan. Place meat mixture in the middle of the cabbage leaves and roll the sides in.
    Place the folded side down in Oven roaster.

  8. Step 8

    cover Cabbage rolls generously With the rest of tomato soup. layer with remaining outer leaves. cover and heat @ 250 degrees for 3-4 hours. uncover and heat for about 20 minutes before serving.

Tips & Warnings
  • if you want to cook it longer turn temp down to 225
