Plan a Surprise Trip
Plan a Surprise Trip

Keep your marriage fresh and exciting by planning a surprise getaway for you and your spouse!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • At least $100 of extra spending money.
  • The ability to keep a secret!
  1. Step 1

Select a date that will work for both of you. You can plan a trip two ways. It can be a complete surprise (in which case you will have to snoop in your spouse's calendar and possibly make up a reason to prevent them from planning something at the same time). Or you can be up front that you are planning something and ask them to hold the day(s) for a special getaway! (Knowing when but not where will create something exciting to look forward to)

  2. Step 2

Choose a hotel, inn, or bed & breakfast you have been meaning to try. It can be close by or far away, depending on how much time you have for your getaway.

  3. Step 3

Look for romantic packages that include activities or meals. If the place where you want to stay doesn't offer packages, research where to eat and what to do nearby. Print out all information -- including prices, directions, and hours -- to take with you.

  4. Step 4

Pack some special things to enjoy your getaway and rekindle that spark. A lingerie fashion show is a fun idea. Candles, bubble bath, and massage oil can be relaxing and romantic.

  5. Step 5

Have a great time surprising your spouse!

Tips & Warnings
  • If you want your trip to be a complete surprise, you might have to pack a suitcase for your spouse! This can be tricky. Pay close attention to everything they use in the morning, and don't forget mundane things like underwear, socks, and casual clothing!
