Are you tired of making a traditional turkey each holiday season? This italian-inspired turkey is delicious, moist and easy to make. It will be the "all the rave" at your next family function.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Whole roasting turkey
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large quartered lemons
  • 2 tablespoons Kosher Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Black pepper
  • 6 sticks fresh rosemary
  • 5 chopped garlic cloves
  • Roasting Pan
  • Oven bag (turkey size)
  • Small bowl
  • Spoon
  1. Step 1

    Preperation Steps:
1.Remove all dishes and clean and sanitize your sink.
2.Clean off your countertop so that you have space to work
3.Quarter the lemons, chop the garlic and get ingredients and supplies together and ready for use.
    4. Open the oven bag and set it inside the roasting pan with the open end facing you.

  2. Step 2

Remove the turkey from its packaging and throw the wrapping away. If there is one, remove the bag of giblets. Take the turkey to the sink and rinse out the cavity of the turkey until the water runs clear. Rinse the outside of the turkey.

  3. Step 3

Place the turkey inside the oven bag with the cavity opening toward you and the thermomenter facing upward.

  4. Step 4

Mix the kosher salt, pepper, garlic, and leaves from 2 sticks of rosemary and two tablespoons of olive oil. Once mixed take a spoon (or utensil of your choice) and lightly coat the inside of the cavity with 1/3 of the mixture.

  5. Step 5

Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the remaining 2/3 of the mixture and coat the outside of the turkey.

  6. Step 6

Take the 2 lemons and stuff them inside the cavity with the remaining 4 sprigs of rosemary. Close the oven bag and tie the opening. You are done!

  7. Step 7

Cook time is based on the specifications of the turkey bag that you have. Cooking in a bag means that 1)you don't need to baste your turkey and 2)your turkey will cook much faster. Generally in 3-4 hours you will have a moist and delicious turkey that your guests will talk about for years to come!

Tips & Warnings
  • You can make this recipe without using an oven bag but you will need to baste your turkey.
  • Feel free to add more spice or different spices if you want. This is your recipe!
  • If your turkey doesn't come with a thermometer use a meat thermometer to ensure that your tukey is heated to the proper temperature.
