How to Make a Popup Window On Your Website

Here you will learn how to insert an unblockable popup window into your website without any prior programming knowledge.

Things You'll Need:

• A PC with any Windows OS

1. So download the free software here www.123JavaScriptPopup.com Follow the installation instructions and install it on your Computer.

   When you have finished the installation process you can Run the pop-up software application, and you should see a window like this:

   Loading a template.
   Now you need to load one of the default popup windows template projects included with the software.
   So Choose 'File'- 'New Project Template'. Like this below:

   You will see there are a lot of advanced templates to choose from, but to make this really simple we suggect the Post it Popup for now.
   So choose the “Post It Note’ template and click 'Open'

   If everything is ok up to now you should see a post it note popup in the screen area in the bottom right hand window.
   You can move it around, make it larger and test it in this window, as this is exactly how the popup on your webpage will eventually look like after publishing with the software.

   Popup Window Edit

   Now you are ready to edit the text and format of the text. Here you may need to know a little HTML but really only basic tags which you can copy from any HTML tutorial pages. Also don’t forget to push the refresh button after edits to see the changes.
   Also you can change now the way the POPUP interacts with the different choices of Method of how it appears, Appearance and colors, Size and Positional parameters.

7. Once you are happy with the Popup you can create a working directory and save the Project by using the “File” – “Save” (I would suggest saving it to a directory on your desktop).
   After you have saved your pop-up project if you want have a quick look in the directory to see the files you have created. It should have two files inside. Next we can publish the Popup to our website.

   Compile button

   To Generate the Popup script all you need to do is press the Compile button (that’s the Green button with a Play triangle inside at the top of the program window).

   This will do two things.
   1. It will automatically generate the files to insert into your webdirectory and save them in your project directory you created in STEP 7.
   2. It will open a box with the lines of code to add to your HTML files, or just push the Copy to Clipboard to Copy them into your HTML file.

    Now we need to insert it into our webpage. Or if you prefer you can see it in action in a blank webpage before you publish to your website if you go to the directory with the project files and click on the “project-name”_preview.html file and open it in your browser.

    Publishing to your webpage
    So now first thing you need to do is transfer the files to you webpage directory.
    And second you need to update your HTML file in the page you want the pop up to show. The easiest way is to go to the compile window and click the 'copy to clipboard' button, which will copy the relevant code to your clipboard. Now open your HTML file with a text editor and paste the code into the file just below the BODY tag like below and save it, SIMPLE!
    Now when you run you HTML file in your browser it will show the pop up in your web page.
