Step 1
First of all, all of the major networks have adopted online TV shows as an option. NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX all have media players that can allow you to watch full episodes of some shows. You can try the same thing with some of the cable station websites, which will vary in what they have available.
-
Step 2
Your next option is to look up the show directly and see what video websites become available. I did this when looking for a show that to my knowledge does not air on a network or cable station available to me. I noticed that IMDb (Stands for Internet Movie Database) has a video option in the upper right corner of their site--sometimes it's just clips, and other times it's full episodes.

Step 3
With other websites you just have to use your best judgment. The right thing to do is to choose a website where you can tell the people involved with the show are getting some kind of compensation for their work. Most of the time it's pretty easy to tell a legitimate sources from one that isn't.

Step 4
Have fun watching your TV show on your computer for free! If you have a digital projector, this can also become a great home movie theater option. My husband and I watch shows this way pretty often.
