Play Star Wars Magnet Game in Your Classroom

During the Star Wars unit, I use the Star Wars magnet game to keep the kids motivated by rewarding them throughout the day. There is no prize for getting to the top; the prize IS getting to the top and the kids love it. This system is a great way to make sure that you are acknowledging all of the kids in the class. Too often, the well-behaved kids get overlooked while the teacher is spending the bulk of his or her time on the kids who are not behaving. Here is how to motivate all of your students with the Star Wars Magnet Game.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw the game board on any white board that the kids can reach.

    • 2

Start off with all the kids' magnets at the lowest level, which is labeled "Jabba."

    • 3

Have the kids move up a level for doing something good.

    • 4

Have the kids move up the next two levels to "Jar Jars" and "Jangos."

    • 5

Have the kids move up to the highest level, which is "Jedi." I make sure they do not get to this level too early in the day; otherwise they have nowhere else to go.
