Things You'll Need:
- Herbs
- Essential oils

Step 1
Ho Shou Wu or Fo Ti is a popular Chinese oral remedy for hair loss. According to Chinese medicine, hair loss happens due to a weak liver or kidneys. By restoring the balance in these organs, one can experience hair regrowth. A member of the buckwheat family, Ho Shou Wu in Chinese literally translates to a' head full of black hair', and is available in Chinese markets.

Step 2
Ayurvedic (Indian) herbal remedies for hair loss include a combination of oral supplements, topical oils, and lifestyle changes. While treatments are tailored to an individual based on their constitutions by an Ayurvedic physician, some remedies are universally useful. Bhringraj oil is an extremely popular topical in the Indian market. See the resource section for more information. In terms of oral supplements, Ashwagandha, and Amla are recommended for hair loss.

Step 3
Aromatherapy adds a fragrant dimension to the herbal remedies scene. The essential oils of rosemary, lavender, cedarwood, and thyme, in a carrier oil base are reported to encourage new hair growth in people experiencing hair loss. See the resource section for a link giving more information about research behind this remedy, and a recipe for blending a bottle of hair friendly oil.

Step 4
From a Naturopath's perspective, Saw Palmetto is a potent remedy for male pattern balding. It is considered anti-androgenic, and stops hair loss by blocking DHT (a hair follicle killing hormone). Stinging Nettles and Green tea are reported to have a similar, but milder effect on blocking DHT. Another suggested remedy for increasing circulation in the scalp is to drink horsetail tea for its rich silica content.
