Patch A Small Hole In Your Dry Wall

Repairing a hole in your drywall is almost as simple as putting the hole there in the first place. With a few simple tools and a little bit of know how any one can patch a hole in less then 20 minutes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sand paper
  • Paint
  • Fast drying patch compound
  • putty knife
  • mesh fiberglass tape
  1. Step 1

To start stuff the hole with crumpled up newspaper and then cut a square patch of fiberglass tape roughly the size of the diameter of the hole.

Then tape the hole with the fiberglass mesh. The newspaper inserted in the hole will help hold the fast drying patch compound while the mesh gives it a flat surface to be applied on.

  2. Step 2

Use a putty knife and evenly distribute the fast drying compound over the fiberglass mesh. Start by applying a light amount and then spread evenly as you add more coats.

  3. Step 3

Allow up to 30 minutes to dry and then apply more coats as necessary. Sand smooth with sand paper. Once the compound is dry and you've sanded it paint over existing patch making sure to match the color coat on your wall.
