How to Clean a Plasma Television Screen

Special care must be taken to clean a plasma television screen. Cleaning a plasma screen requires different tools and materials than cleaning glass tube screens, which are much less delicate.

Things You'll Need

• Soft, lint-free, microfiber cloth
• Plasma screen cleaning fluid

Instructions

1. Read the owners guide for your television and look for specific cleaning instructions. Some plasma screens have a special coating and may require specific cleaning products or procedures.

2. Purchase a lint-free cloth that is soft. Microfiber cloths work well. You can pick them up at any good electronics store. Buy cleaner made specifically for cleaning plasma screens. This fluid is typically a mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol.

3. Unplug your screen from the power before cleaning. Spray cleaning solution onto the cloth, not directly onto the screen. Make sure you do not apply pressure when wiping the screen. The dust and dirt should lift off when you lightly press the cloth against the screen.

• Only use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth when cleaning. Products like tissue paper can scratch the surface of your screen.
