Things You'll Need:
- Schools
- Doctors office
- Transportation
-
Step 1
If you have kids, you might be able to reuse the newspapers for arts and crafts. You can use them to protect table tops and floors during messy activities, or even tear them into strips and make a papier mache project! Same thing with the magazines...kids can use them for school projects by cutting out pictures and articles for their projects.
-
Step 2
Contact your local schools and doctor's offices. They may love a donation of free magazines. Or contact your local homeless or women's shelter. Even your church might be glad to take them. Anywhere people wait magazines are appreciated! If you know someone that likes to read the magazines but can't afford them, why not drop them off when you finish with them? Remember, it's nice to share!
-
Step 3
Of course you can simply recycle them at your local recycling plant. Just look in the phone book under 'recycling' and find the nearest place that accepts paper. Sometimes you might find large bins located outside of shopping centers designated for this purpose. Don't feel bad about getting rid of the magazines! Even though they won't be read again they will be recycled into something else useful, and your planet will thank you!

on 1/24/2009 I use them for my rats. Nothing pleases them more than ripping up paper. Lots of animal shelters are happy to take newspapers for similar reasons.
