Interested in creating a neat iTunes playlist? You've been adding more and more and more songs to your library. It has gotten to the point where your music is taking up most of your hard drive space. There's so many songs that you've been neglecting your old favorites. Well, stop! Here's how to enjoy those old tunes all over again by creating a special iTunes playlist.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin by selecting file then scrolling down to new smart iTunes playlist (or press CTRL+ALT+N). A smart box should open now.

  2. Step 2

Underneath "match the following rule", choose "last played"

  3. Step 3

In the next box to your right, select "is not in the last"

  4. Step 4

In the next box to your right, enter whatever number you prefer. For the sake of example we'll enter the number 6.

  5. Step 5

In the next box to your right, select whatever time period you prefer. For the sake of example, we'll choose "months".

  6. Step 6

Now our line reads "last played", "is not in the last", "6", "months", so our iTunes playlist will contain songs that were not played in the last 6 months. Be sure to check the "live updating" option so that it updates itself from time to time. That means less work for you to get your music organized.

  7. Step 7

Feel free to name the playlist at this point. Now go get reacquainted with your forgotten songs because the iTunes playlist is complete!

Tips & Warnings
  • Like any other smart list, you can always add or subtract extra rules by hitting + or - in the smart box to get some extra customization. For example, for this particular one you can always require that the songs have a high rating, or match a certain genre, etc.
