Want to make a cool iTunes playlist? Just can't shake that 80's vibe today? You don't have to dig through your entire music library to satisfy that craving. Did you know that with just a few clicks of a button and the smart feature you can express your love of 80s tunes with an iTunes playlist?

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open up your library. Select file then scroll down to the option called new smart iTunes playlist (or press CTRL+ALT+N). A smart box will open.

  2. Step 2

Underneath "match the following rule" select the option "year"

  3. Step 3

In the next box to your right, select "is in the range"

  4. Step 4

In the next box to your right enter "1980"

  5. Step 5

In the next box to your right enter "1989"

  6. Step 6

Optional: select "live updating" to have the playlist automatically update from time to time. You can select "limit to" if you want to keep the number of songs below a certain amount. Feel free to add an additional rule by clicking the + button to the right of 1989. One example of a rule you might want to add to this particular iTunes playlist is "Rating", "Greater than", ***.

  7. Step 7

Press "OK" and the iTunes playlist will appear. Feel free to name it at this point, if you'd like or leave it untitled until tomorrow!

Tips & Warnings
  • Prefer the 60's? Replace "1980" and "1989" with "1960" and "1969". You can do the same for the 50's, 70's, 90's, whatever. Your decade, your playlist.
