How to Run a Hockey Offense: Triangle Offense

Sometimes known as cycling, this offense concentrates on maintaining possession of the puck between three constantly moving players.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hockey Pucks
  • Hockey pucks
  • Hockey Sticks
  • Hockey sticks
  1. Step 1

    Move two wings and your center into a triangle formation, usually with the center as the point man far up-ice, behind and to the side of the net if necessary.

  2. Step 2

    Keep the action moving by passing back and forth inside this triangle with the puck inside the offensive zone.

  3. Step 3

    Continue this process until a shot presents itself.

Tips & Warnings
  • Short, quick passes make this offense much easier to execute and harder to defend.
  • Don't concentrate so much on moving the puck that you miss an open shot.
