Step 1
The first way to create playlists on iTunes is by creating from selection. To do this, first go to your iTunes library and manually select each of the files you would like to add to the playlist. Next, click file and scroll down to "new playlist from selection" and click that (or hit CTRL+Shift+N instead). Finally, name your playlist and you are all set. If your library is lacking then you can buy music at the online store or import music from your CDs.

Step 2
The second way to create playlists on iTunes is the old fashioned way. Select file and scroll down to new (or hit CTRL+N instead). Your new digital music list will now appear empty and you may name it. Now you must manually select all the files you want to add to this new group. To add files to this empty playlist you can do one of two things, either "drag and drop" the files onto it or right click over them and scroll to "add to playlist", scroll to the right and select the name of the set you just created.

Step 3
The third way to create playlists on iTunes is by using the nifty "genius" feature. To do this, select one of your favorite files in your iTunes library, right click it and scroll down to "start genius". This will automatically select and reorder digital music tracks from your library that are similar to the one you selected. When you use this option you will see three buttons appear on the upper right hand corner of the program. If you are satisfied with the set that the genius created, select save from the upper right hand corner and you are all done!

Step 4
The fourth way to create playlists on iTunes is by using the smart playlist option. Smarts are similar to genius in that they are created automatically, except that you can get very specific with them and have iTunes make almost any kind of grouping you want. Now burn music to a CD and rock out!
