This unique slaw has a wonderful sweet taste and can be made in as little as 20 minutes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cabbage
  • 1 onion
  • 3-4 carrots
  • 1 c Sugar
  • 3/4 c vegetable oil
  • 1 T Salt
  • 1 T Celery Seed
  • 1 T Mustard
  1. Step 1

Chop cabbage, carrots, and onions. This may be easier if done with a food processor, but be sure not to chop them too finely.

  2. Step 2

Combine 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup oil, 1/2 cup vinegar, 1 Tablespoon salt, 1 Tablespoon celery seed, and 1 Tablespoon mustard in medium sauce pan. Bring mixture to a boil and stir until sugar is completely disolved.

  3. Step 3

Cool the vinegar mixture completly. In order to speed up this process you can place the mixture in the refigerator. If vinegar mixture is not completely cooled it will partially cook the cabbage and the slaw will not turn out as well.

  4. Step 4

Place chopped cabbage, onions, and carrots in a container that can be sealed. Poor vinegar mixture over cabbage and stir well. Place sealed container in refrigerator overnight. Shake sealed container occasioinally to ensure everything is mixed well.
