Mmmm are you a chocolate lover? Fudge addict? Do you enjoy your dessert after a meal, before the meal, or as a night time snack? Maybe you are planning an event and would like to have a warm dessert for your guests? Well this recipe is perfect for all of you and your chocolate needs! Here is how you can make a hot fudge cake!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 6 T. cocoa, divided
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 T. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 3/4 c. hot water
  • 9x9 baking pan
  1. Step 1

    Start by mixing the 1 cup of flour, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 2 T. cooca, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt together in a bowl.

    Stir in milk, vegetable oil and vanilla extract until smooth.

    Spread the mix into a 9x9 inch ungreased pan.

    Next, combine the brown sugar and 4 T. cocoa together. When blended well, sprinkle over the batter.

    Slowly pour hot water (use hot tap water) over all. DO NOT MIX OR STIR.

    Bake at 350' for 35-40 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream!

Tips & Warnings
  • Add a special touch by pouring hot chocolate fudge or caramel over the cake just before serving.
  • If you're a nut lover, sprinkle a few crushed nuts on the cake.
  • Don't forget the whipped cream, and now you've got a hot fudge cake sundae!
  • Eating chocolate will help increase the brain's endorphins, so eat up!
  • Be sure you do not mix the hot water into the batter on step 5.
