Things You'll Need:
- Trumpet
- Valve Oil
-
Step 1
Blue Juice valve oil is my personal favorite. http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Blue-Juice-Valve-Oil-8-oz?sku=420457If your valves are sticking, they might need valve oil. Purchase Valve Oil.
-
Step 2
Look at your trumpet up side down. There are 3 holes on the bottom of the valves.
-
Step 3
Open the cap of the valve oil.
-
Step 4
Put nozzle into hole, and squeeze about three times. Do this on each valve.
-
Step 5
Keep pressing the valves until they start getting easier to press.
-
Step 6
Your problem should be fixed.
-
Step 7
If your feeling the air is not getting through, your valves may not be put in right. To fix this, take all three valves out. (each has a number)
-
Step 8
Now put them back in the right way.
-
Step 9
First, make sure the first valve goes in the first valve slot (each slot and valve has a number to help you).
-
Step 10
Also, if you look into the valve slot, will see a small slot. There is also a matching slot on your valves. Make sure they go together.
-
Step 11
When done, the problem should be fixed.
-
Step 12
For cleaning your trumpet, use warm, soapy, water and wash gently with rag.
-
Step 13
To clean the inside of your mouthpiece, use this mouthpiece cleaner. Stick it into the hole.
