Things You'll Need:
- Set of 2 6-Prong Post Finding (6mm)
- Set of 2 Butterfly Earring Clutch
- Set of 2 6mm Round White Cubic Zirconia
- Bent Chain Nose Pliers You may opt for larger gemstones; just choose a post finding in the same measurement.
-
Step 1
Place your simulated gemstone on a flat smooth surface (you may want to place a thin cloth over the surface to avoid scratching the gemstone) flat side down and the pointed side pointing up.
-
Step 2
Using the pliers, grasp the finding that matches the diameter of the gemstone you have selected and position it over the gemstone.
-
Step 3
Still holding with the pliers, push the fitting down onto the setting. Hold the pliers in one hand and push down on the jaws of the pliers with your opposite thumb. Listen for a snap or pop as the prongs of the setting snap into place around the stone. Continue pushing until all 6 prongs snap into position.
-
Step 4
Finally, make sure that each prong is set tightly against the gemstone by grasping an opposing pair of prongs and gently squeezing them together using your bent chain nose pliers.
-
Step 5
Attach an earring clutch to the opposite end of the piece and repeat all steps for a pair.
