Instructions

    • 1

Place the cubic zirconium on a flat, smooth surface with the flat side down and the pointed side pointing up. You may want to place a thin cloth over the surface to avoid scratching the gemstone.

    • 2

Grasp the finding that matches the diameter of the gemstone you have selected with the pliers and position it over the gemstone.

    • 3

Push the fitting down onto the setting with the pliers. Hold the pliers in one hand and push down on the jaws of the pliers with your opposite thumb. Listen for a snap or pop as the prongs of the setting snap into place around the stone. Continue pushing until all six prongs snap into position.

    • 4

Grasp opposing pairs of prongs and gently squeeze them together using the pliers.

    • 5

Attach an earring clutch to the opposite end of the piece.

    • 6

Repeat the process for the other earring to make a matched pair.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you opt to use real diamonds, choose a 14k finding and clutch. Use caution as diamonds are expensive!

  • You may opt for larger gemstones; just choose a post finding in the same measurement.
