Step 1
Do not hire a wedding planner. get your friends and familiy to help you plan it instead
-
Step 2
THE DRESSES-
If you want to save money, you’re best to go out and rent your wedding dress in a bridal shop that rents and retail. They have all kinds of styles of beautiful bridal gowns. Most women buy their expensive dress because it’s such a special day, but they don’t wear it again afterwards. It ends up in the back of the closet or on a bridal website for sale. You should also rent out the bridesmaids dresses and the groomsmens suits as well. I rented my dress for $600 but if I was to buy the exact same one brand new, it will take me back $2000. Because I also rented my 3 bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen’s outfits, they gave me a massive discount, paying a total of less than $1200. That helped a lot. -
Step 3
FLOWERS-
Flowers can be very expensive if you’re not careful. Avoid flower shops in big shopping centers and busy areas. Quote around as much as you can. Try to find a flower warehouse if you can or at an asian flower shop as they always charge fraction of the price yet still very good. -
Step 4
CAKE-
Try to find a cake factory if you can as they make great wedding design cakes for such small price. You can also go to the asian cake shop as well. They also make very good cakes at a much cheaper price. If you go to those shops that specifically makes wedding cakes, they will definitely over charge you. -
Step 5
HAIR & MAKEUP-
Ask for as many quotes as you can on this one from salons to mobile home service and find what’s the best offer for you. Most places will give you more discount the more people to get their hair & makeup done. For me, I found that finding someone who does mobile hair and makeup end up being much cheaper than salons. I think this is as it’s a private business and they don’t have wages and rent to pay. I saved so much on hair & makeup. -
Step 6
PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO-
Ask around for plenty of quotes but only in photo and video packages only. Never to do it separately as it will cost heaps more. -
Step 7
REGISTRY-
Instead of having a gift registry, ask your guests to give you money instead if it’s not too much to ask. They can give it to a family member in an envelope as they walk into the reception. This will save you the most on your wedding. I had 200 guests at my reception and the money I got from the guests ended up paying for my reception itself with some leftover for the honeymoon. Try it. Will help you more than you think. -
Step 8
losing weight shouldn't have to be so hard. it's only hard when you have to give up all the tasty foods, that's when most of us fail and we end up eating more than we did before. I did this and lost 10 pounds in 3 months. i haven't been this weight for over 4 years.
in the end, it's all about moderation. if you want to lose quicker, cut out the fattening food. i ate very little portion because i didn't cut out the fattening food but i did cut back the quantity dramatically. if i can do it, so can you. try it!!!

on 7/4/2009 Frankly, I don't know much about weddings and they're not high on my list of want-to-learn-more-about topics either. However, I do know a beautiful bride when I see one, and you're it Lisa! :)
