How to Get a job with the United States Postal Service
I will help you navigate through the process of obtaining a job in any craft of the postal service. It is not a hard process, however I am always amazed at how many people are scammed into buying unnessesary books and programs. This is straight foward and the truth to getting a job. I am an employee so trust me I know the process quite well.

In order to obtain a career with the United States Postal Service you must first go to USPS.COM.
-
2
At the bottom of the page you will see a link "careers", simply click on this link.
-
-
3
From this page you can search job openings, register and create an eCAREER profile. You will ultimately want to create a profile. A new page will open that will walk you through the sign-up process.
-
4
You will then choose the test that is appropriate for the job in which you wish to obtain. The tests are not always available in all areas so check back often. They post the exams as they need to hire new employees in an area.
-
5
After signing up for the exam the post office will send you the specific date, time and location of your exam along with the study materials you will need. Your score on the test and number of qualified applicants will determine your hire.
-
6
You will be sent for drug screening the day of your interview if you are one of the lucky canidates.
-

I hope this helps and good luck!!

Tips & Warnings
You can also go to your local post office and ask if they have any openings for casual (non-career) employees. These jobs are good for one year at a time however can help lead you to a career position. You must take the test for career positions though.
EX-MILITARY GET EXTRA POINTS ON THIER SCORE
Please be sure you are drug free prior to applying. Very strict guideline. Also any job that requires you to drive your own or postal owned vehicles require a clean driving record of 5 years.

This is very useful advice. So many people unknowingly respond to the web advertisements and ads in the paper, not even realizing that they are not from the US Post Office. -

Way back when, I did take this test at a large facility with what seemed a billion other interested people for a job opp'y with the USPS. I never did hear or follow up....I think there was a time limit on that after the results were in. Thanks for this informative article. Five 42 cent stamps for you!
