  • 1 bag of mixed birdseed and a deep dish.

  1. Step 1

Tear off 12 large pieces of plastic wrap and place them on a table being careful that they don't touch.

  2. Step 2

Pour the birdseed into a dish.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the bottom third of the wire/pipe cleaner around the large end of the pinecone and twist ot tightly to secure it. Keep the other end free because this is the end that you will wrap around a branch, sheppard's hook, railing, etc.

  4. Step 4

Scoop the peanut butter into a deep microwaveable bowl and heat it at intervals of 30 seconds, stiring in between until it is well melted but not too hot to the touch.

  5. Step 5

Gently roll the pinecone in the melted peanut butter.

  6. Step 6

Press and roll the peanut butter covered pinecone in the birdseed until it won't hold any more seed.
As you finish each one, place it on the plastic wrap.

  7. Step 7

Wash up and go back and complete wrapping each pinecone. Place in a plastic bag and store in a cool place until firm. Hang in a high place and enjoy the birds!!
