We are in a recession and many people are losing their jobs. Learn how to recession-proof your job and keep it during these hard times.

Things You'll Need:

  • guts
  • determination
  • a stronger work ethic than ever
  1. Step 1

    Hol onto your job and recession-proof it by having a stronger work ethic than ever. Be on time. Go early and stay late. Offer to complete additional work. Be a team player now more than ever.

  2. Step 2

    Offer to work any chance you get even if is on the weekend and your favorite team has a big game. you can always record it and watch it later.

  3. Step 3

    Work any and all holidays possible if you get double pay. This only makes sense.

  4. Step 4

    This last step takes guts but it is well worth a try. Sit down with your boss one on one in a private setting and let them know that you have a family to support and you fear lay-offs may be around the corner. Let him/her know that you are willing to cross-train, work extra hours, whatever it takes to keep your job. Offer to come in early or stay late, work weekends, etc. Learn how to do more and be willing to do more in order to make yourself indispensible.

Tips & Warnings
  • Work harder than ever before!!! Offer to cross-train an dlearn new aspects of the company.
  • You must work hard to prove that you are the one person that the company does not need to lose because you are committed to the tasks at hand.
