Plan a Fun American Idol Theme Party

Season after season, the TV hit American Idol is proving to be a smash, especially among the younger audiences. With these fun American Idol theme party ideas, you can be a smash, too!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Borrow a few DVD players and TVs and play a few different seasons of American Idol at different places in your party area. The volume doesn't need to be turned up on them - they make great decoration as the scenes change! These make great prizes for the end of the party, too!

  2. Step 2

Have a lip syncing contest. You can either let your guests know ahead of time (so that they can prepare) via your invitations, or else provide a list of songs for them to choose from once they get to the party.

  3. Step 3

Disguise your party invitations as back stage passes to the show (or else make fake tickets and put them inside the envelope with the invitations.)

  4. Step 4

Give a flower to each guest as they leave the party - and a huge BRAVO!

  5. Step 5

Play a game of name that tune! Make sure the songs are appropriate to the age level of the party. For greater participation, divide the group into two large teams. Have everyone sitting. When the song is played, the person who thinks they know it stands. In this way, it will be easier to see who 'buzzed in first.' If the person is right, they score a point for their team.
