Step 1
First and foremost, always put in contact lenses before applying make-up.
-
Step 2
Apply any powder make-up around the eyes carefully with your eyes closed, though it is best to use cream and liquid eyeshadows as powder ones can cause particles to get in the eye, causing irritation.
-
Step 3
Go with waterproof mascaras and eyeliners. The mascara should also be alcohol free and not eyelash-extending, as those contain fibers that can irritate eyes, and the eyeliner should be soft rather than liquid. Be careful not to touch the base of the eyelashes when applying mascara and avoid putting on eyeliner on the area between your eyelid and eyelashes, as it can get on your contact lens and irritate the eye.
-
Step 4
Use liquid foundations that are water-based and hypoallergenic (though powder ones can be all right, too, as long as you take extra caution when applying them around your eyes).
-
Step 5
Take out your contact lenses before removing make-up.
