Step 1
Always have something else to read at your computer table. Next to your computer you should have a stack of magazines or novels to read, while you are waiting for that next page to open.
-
Step 2
Click on the move. Every time you pass your computer as you walk around your home, click on the next link. The next time you walk by, your page may be on the screen. Read or view the information you were waiting for, click on the next link, keep walking, and repeat the process.
-
Step 3
Work on another project on your computer that does not use the internet. Whether you are playing solitaire or making a spreadsheet in Excel, if you have other windows open with something to work on that won’t slow down what you are already waiting for, you will be more patient because you will be distracted. Bounce back and forth between your internet and non-internet windows.
-
Step 4
If you are watching a show on television, browse the internet during the commercials. If you click on something that takes a while to load, hopefully, it will appear by the time the next round of commercials start.
-
Step 5
Play with your pet or kid. If you don’t make the use of your dial-up internet service your primary activity, you won’t get as frustrated, and it will be easier to be patient.
