How to Create A Family Chore List
Are you having trouble remembering which task was assigned to which kid? Or better yet, are your kids acting as if they have no idea what's necessary to keep the house clean and your household running smoothly? Consider creating a Family Chore (or Task) List to keep it all straight.

Creating a simple chore list can be a good way to keep everybody on task while instilling responsibility, and possibly relieving one person (usually Mom) from having to do all the household cleaning.
Either by family meeting, or by parental decision - one person should be responsible for assigning tasks on a weekly or monthly basis.

I've created a simple 1-page worksheet that you can download at Scribd to assign tasks to and mark off when completed. The basics are covered: dishes, dust, vacuum, laundry, trash, bathroom, etc. If you have a few more, I've left a few blank spaces.
Of course, you can always create your own using Word tables or an Excel spreadsheet.

Post on a bulletin board or the refrigerator (boy do I have memories of this!) in order for all to see what needs to be done, and what has been done... in case you have a teen asking for a favor or privilege -- this way you can easily see if they're up-to-date!

Tips & Warnings
You may want to create a rewards or allowance system based on the chore list. When I was a kid, we were paid by the task - which seemed to add a little more motivation to get things done!
Chores should be age appropriate and considerate of work, school or agreed upon activities
