Find Items to Sell on Ebay
http://ezine.rusbiz.com/article/Finding_Products_to_sell_on_eBay.html

Ebay has become one of the top rated websites for making money. But, once you have set up a seller account and sold a few items, you may be wondering if there is a way to make even more money from items other than those in your home. And yes, there is. There are actually many other resources that can be used to purchase items at a low cost and sell them on eBay for a profit.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet
  • A little start up money
  • Email
  • A little time
  1. Step 1

The easiest resource to use for finding and selling items on eBay is garage sales. People sell items for a low price to anyone looking to purchase them. Often times, people holding garage sales are just looking to get rid of items quickly and will sell items for lower than what they were originally asking. If you think an item looks good and would sell on eBay, ask the person if they would take .50 or even $1.00 less than what they are asking. Chances are, they will. Then check the item out on eBay and see if it's sold and what the price was. Even if it hasn't sold, you didn't lose out because you bought the item for really cheap and could either donate it, put it in your own garage sale, or just throw it away.

  2. Step 2

Another resource to use is Craigslist. This is a very valuable website for finding all sorts of unique items for sale. The site is designed like a online garage sale. Just click on the state you are looking for items in, find the link marked "for sale", and browse the items for sale. A list of items available comes up and shows you details of what is selling, the price of the item or items, and contact information. You can even see what is available on Craigslist and then search it on Ebay to see if it's selling and for what price. This gives you a better idea of whether you should purchase the item or look for something else.

  3. Step 3

You can also check out a site called Liquidation.com. This site sells items in bulk and gives you the ability to buy many of the same item if you think it will sell well on eBay. Liquidation.com sells items from 10 or more in a lot and members bid on them to win the auction. However, the items they sell change so don't expect there to always be the same items on the site. You also have to win the auction to get the items. Just like eBay, the highest bidder wins. But if you are able to be the highest bidder and have completed your payment, you will receive the items in the mail and and turn around and sell them on eBay for a profit. Liquidation.com has many items from electronics, clothing, jewelry, computers and accessories, housewares, and even vehicles. It can be a great resource for finding an item that is selling well and making money on 10 or more of that items.

  4. Step 4

Another site for buying discount items is Dollar Days. This site offers discount items for less and allows you to purchase just about anything from candles and fragrances to fleece blankets and housewares. You have to look carefully for items and they have to be bought by the lot, but since their prices are so cheap, you can easily make a profit without spending a lot of money.

  5. Step 5

A great wholesale site for buying and reselling new shoes is Wholesalesituation.com. They sell new shoes in lots of 10 or more and their prices are pretty reasonable. You can check on eBay to see what shoes are selling to make a profit. Wholesalesituation.com allows you to pay for items using Paypal or a credit card and does not require that you bid. Once you purchase an item, it is yours.

  6. Step 6

Another great resource for making money on eBay is to purchase from eBay itself. A lot of people are selling on eBay and you can find items that are marked pretty low and in bulk and sell them back on the same site. This works great for items such as candles, children's clothes, cell phone accessories, coupons (grocery and other), books, etc... Just look around for the cheapest items and see how much you could sell them for to make a profit.

Tips & Warnings
  • Before purchasing items on wholesale sites, be sure to check how they are selling on eBay.
  • Calculate your profit before selling. If you are purchasing an item for $12.00 a piece wholesale, but can only sell it for that much then it isn't worth it.
  • Bookmark the wholesale sites and check in with them daily as items change and more items are added. They don't always sell the same thing.
  • If you are not absolutely sure of what you are purchasing or bidding on on these sites, then ask questions. Each site has a FAQ or contact info.
  • Watch items on eBay before jumping in an buying items on these sites. You'll better learn how to make a profit.
