Digg is a social bookmarking tool that can drive traffic to your article and your friends articles. A Digg represents a vote in favor of the article. The more often an article is Dugg, the higher the article is raised in the heirarchy of articles. Getting a lot of Diggs will help you to find more readers.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A computer
  • Articles you like
  1. Step 1

Just above eHow article text, you will see a box with several icons and commands: email, send to phone, add to favorites, flag article, and share. Roll your mouse over "share."

  2. Step 2

A box will appear with lots of icons, beginning with "email". The next one is DIGG.

  3. Step 3

If you have not yet joined Digg, you will have to set up a free account. You can do this by clicking on the icon in the upper left hand corner of the Digg home page. You will see "Join Digg." Click on Join Digg and set up an account.

  4. Step 4

One you have an account, you will have to login every time you want to begin Digging for the day. After you have logged in once, you can read through a bunch of articles and Digg each one quickly.

  5. Step 5

You can now Digg articles in eHow by rolling your mouse over "share" and clicking Digg. If the article has never been Dugg, then you will have to go through a series of steps in order to Digg it for the first time, including writing a short description of the article and cutting and pasting the URL address of the article to the form on Digg. If the article has been Dugg,it is even quicker to add your vote. You will just click on the article when it appears, and you will see the number of votes that the article has received increase by one, as your vote is included in the tally.

  6. Step 6

The more votes an artice gets, the more exposure it gets. The more exposure it gets, the more readers it gets.

  7. Step 7

If an article is really bad, then don't Digg it. It won't help anyone if we mindlessly Digg each other's stuff. We need to work hard to maintain the value of eHow content by showing pride in our work and helping each other to continually strive toward quality writing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Spell check wasn't working when I wrote this, so I will spell check it later when that feature is up and running again.
  • I plan to edit and revise this article when time allows. This is a rough draft!
  • If something is really confusing, please send me a comment with constructive criticism so I can improve the instructions with the second draft. Thank you!
  • Be sure to digg things you like from all over the net, not just here, and not just what YOU write-- you could get banned from digg for spamming. So, when you read something cool that isn't from here-- Digg it!
