Candles can bring a relaxing and romantic ambiance to a room, but it doesn't take much for an accident to happen and to have wax drip on your carpet. Your first thought is that the carpet is ruined, but it's actually a pretty simple procedure to remove the wax from your carpet. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Clothes iron

      Plug in the clothes iron and set the temperature on medium heat.

      Place a paper towel over the spot where the wax is located. After the iron is warmed up, run the iron over the paper towel and apply a light to medium pressure. Do not let the iron stand still -- keep the iron moving at all times. After a few passes, lift the iron and check the paper towel. The wax should have melted and absorbed in the paper towel.

      Repeat Step 2 with a new paper towel until no more wax comes up. The wax should be gone once no more wax appears on the towels.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure that you will not be distracted while cleaning your carpet or material that has the wax on it. If the iron is left unattended, you could melt, burn or ruin exactly what you're trying to clean.
