There are countless places to live all over the world, so it can be hard just to pick one. There are many factors to consider when choosing a place to live and here are some very important ones.

The first thing to think about when choosing a place to live is can you afford it? Even if you have dreamed of living in New York but you just don't have the money, it may not be the right time to live there. This does not mean you will never get to live there. But you may want to increase your income before you make a move like that.

Check the area's CPI (Consumer Price Index). The consumer price index will help you find out if where you are wanting to live is liveable on your income. But one thing to think of when using the consumer price index is that if you change careers when you move, it might change your income to help meet your new living standard.

Climate. Before moving to a new area, I would definitely go for a visit a couple of times. If you can visit during different seasons, that can really help you make decision if this is a place where you want to buy a house and live. For example a Winter in Florida is very different than a Winter in New York. So before you buy a house in the area, you will want to know what that is like.

Looking online. Even if you are not able to visit all of the potential places you would like to buy a house and live, looking online is an option. While you can't feel the weather, humidity, etc, you can at least see what if it looks like and it may help you narrow down your selection.
