How to Play Songs on Your Cell Phone
The majority of newer cellphones offer consumers a native media player to play music and video files. Music playback is not exclusive to smartphones, but is also a feature of media players found on other cellphone models. In addition to media players, smartphones also have access to additional free and paid applications that can stream specific songs or radio stations directly to your device. Media players are commonly accessed by browsing an area of your phone that contains applications or multimedia features.

Open your phone's app folder or multimedia menu to display available applications on your mobile device.

If you have a smartphone with the ability to download applications, apps like Pandora, Rhapsody and Slacker Radio allow you to stream music to your device and customize it to your tastes.
Acquiring songs on your iPhone for playback via the iPod application requires syncing your music with iTunes computer software, or purchasing music from your iPhone's iTunes application.
Add music to your Android smartphone by connecting it to your computer via a USB cable. Your Android smartphone will show up as a removable storage device. Use "Copy" and "Paste" functions to place music from your computer to your smartphone's "Music" folder.
Other types of cellphones that have multimedia compatibility allow you to play music as well. If you are unsure if your cellphone supports music playback or where your media player is located, consult the manufacturer's user guide for assistance.
