Things You'll Need:

  • scary plastic dragons with wings
  • plastic pirate king
  • plastic knight
  • plastic pirate ship stuff
  • white cake mix
  • chocolate cake mix
  • chocolate icing
  • white icing
  • graham crackers
  • tiny hard candies
  • licorice, red and black
  • small pirate flag
  • pirate hats for players
  1. Step 1
     

    Make sand castle cake. Bake the white cake in a 9 inch round pan and a rectangular pan. Cut a large circle and small circle from the circular pan. Cut the rectangle in half and put one on top of the other. Add the circlular pieces. Frost. Place on a cookie sheet.

  2. Step 2

    Put cake type ice cream cones on each side of the rectangle. Place cone shaped ice cream cones about the circles. Smash graham crackers very fine and sprinkle on the cake and cookie sheet to resembler sand. Sprinkle tiny candies about. Make a drawbridge with a piece of cake cut from rectangle.

  3. Step 3

    Make pirate ship in a round cake pan and a rectangular one. Cut rectangle into halves and stack. Cut circle in half and stack together, place at one end of rectangle. Frost with cholocate icing and add plastc pirate stuff, Place red whip licoricing along the sqare part of the ship for rigging.

    Put on pirate caps, even if you are the knight, just because they look cool. Each boy places his figure on his dragon. At the count of three, the pirate flies his dragon into the sandcastle and the knight flies his into the pirate ship. Lots of "aarghs" and "for king and country" should be shouted.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wear easily washed clothing. Have wet towels on hand. be near a shower and washing machine.
  • Cake wars are best accomplished under the supervision of a grandparent when parents are not around.
  • Limit cake and icing eating.
