How to Make Cushion Slipcovers
Making cushion covers is an effective way to upgrade your decor. These are simple enough for even novice sewers to whip up in a weekend. Whether you're updating your living room or want some color for your bed, choose some fabrics and get sewing. You can use cushions you already own, or buy pillow forms designed for covering. Cut a piece of fabric that is two and a half times longer than the pillow form and 3 inches wider. Iron the fabric.

Fold the short ends of the fabric under by 1/4 inch and iron, and then fold down by another 1/2 inch and iron again. Sew these hems down.

Lay the fabric face up on your work surface with one short edge toward you. Fold the bottom edge up and the top edge down so that they overlap by about 3 inches. Pin the side seams.

Sew the side seams with a 1/2-inch hem. Turn the pillowcase right side out through the opening created by the overlap. Slip a pillow form into the case through the opening.
