Things You'll Need:
- Credit Card
- Identification
- Travel Agent
-
Step 1
Travel agents very often get deals and special rates. In addition to their special rates, a travel agent may be able to better find the hotel that's right for you if you have never been there before. He or she will be able to answer many of your questions that could take quite a bit of work to get on line. They may also be able to get you a travel package deal that would be difficult to get elsewhere.
-
Step 2
Your credit card may hold the key to getting great rates on airfare, hotels and car rentals. Try booking your travel reservations through your credit card's website and see what rates on airfare, hotel and car rental they give you. You may be pleasantly surprised and you don't need to be a gold member or a platinum member to enjoy this benefit!
-
Step 3
Cruise around online at Hotels.com, Travelocity, Orbitz and Yahoo Travel. Here you will find hundreds of hotels meeting every travel budget. These websites offer fantastic descriptions and pictures of the hotels. They sometimes get special rates that you just can't find anywhere else.
-
Step 4
For cheap airfare, visit these websites, Jet Blue, Orbitz, Yahoo Travel and Travelocity. On Jet Blue you could find tickets as low as $109 each way to Las Vegas from New York and sometimes even cheaper depending on the time of year.
-
Step 5
Be flexible with your dates of your vacation and travel at off peak times for the best rates.
-
Step 6
You don't need to blow your entire paycheck on a decent hotel for the night. Take your time and shop around!

on 1/12/2009 Great article on a cheap trip to Las Vegas. One thing I would like to add... don't gamble away all of your savings. When I went to Vegas, at least 15 years ago, I set aside a certain amount of money that I could loose in the casino and did not spend any more than what I had budgeted. It was money I could afford to loose and loose it I did! So important, people loose all sorts of money out there gambling.
