How to Host a Pre-Teen Birthday Slumber Party
Pre-teens, also called tweens, are kids ages 10 to 12. Most kids in this age group are still at a time in their lives where they enjoy their parents, games and other activities. If you are hosting a birthday party for a pre-teen child, prepare for it well in advance. Plan plenty of activities to keep the children entertained and always make sure you have plenty of food to serve. Choose a themed slumber party or one without a theme. 1
Plan the date and time for the party. Be strict with the start and end times. Ask parents to drop off kids at a stated time and pick them up at a stated time.
-
2
Choose a theme. A theme is not necessary, but it often helps when planning for decorations, activities and games.
-
3
Plan the meals. A slumber party often involves two meals. The children typically arrive in time for dinner on the evening on the party night and also are there for breakfast in the morning. Do not wait until that night to decide what you will serve for breakfast. Plan something easy that will feed a lot of kids and will not take long to prepare.

4
Purchase decorations for only one room, or extend decorations to the rest of the house.
-
5
Decide in advance where the children will sleep. Consider the size of your home and the number of children attending the party.
-
6
Create a schedule of events including meals, cake or snacks, activities, sleep time and games.
-
7
Prepare for the games and activities. There are numerous games and activities ideal for slumber parties, but many depend on whether the party is for a boy or a girl.
-
8
Plan on getting little sleep during the night. Prepare for this by getting a good night's sleep the night before or by taking a nap on the day of the party.
