Things You'll Need:
- Meduim size pair of pliers.
- A flat head screw driver.
- small scrapper or puddy knife.
-
Step 1
(REMOVE OLD TOILET) Using the pair of pliers you will need to turn off the water supple valve to the toilet. Turn the valve to right to tighten it closed. Flush the toilet to ensure the water is off, if so the tank will not refill. When the water is off remove the supply line located on the under side of the tank. Now on the base of the toilet remove the plastic caps and nuts, then gently lift toilet and remove from area. ( caution), if you are not careful when moving toilet water will com out of bowl resulting in a wet mess.
-
Step 2
(INSTALLING NEW BASE) Now that the toilet is removed, use the small scraper to remove the old wax ring from the flange. Sit new wax ring in its place. Install new toilet bolts into the existing flange. Gently lower the new bowl onto the new wax ring and bolts. Once you have sat the new bowl in place press down on thee bowl firmly and evenely to ensure a good seal on the new wax ring. Install the nuts on the new bolts and snugg the base down. ( Do not over tighten these bolts.) If you over tighten the bolts you could crack the base so be careful when tightening them.
-
Step 3
(INSTALLY THE TANK) Now that you have successfully installed the new bowl you will need to install the new tank. Supplied with the tank is a Large black o-ring. Install that o-ring to the bottom of the tank with the tappered end facing away from the tank. Gently lower the tank onto the bowl. Use the two long bolts supplied to secure the tank to the bowl. Once again, do not over tighten. Tighten the Bolts until the tank does not rock or move and that is it. Do not tichten them any more than that.
-
Step 4
(FINAL STEPS) Now that you have bowl and tank installed you will need to re-connect the water supply to the bottom of the tank. After you connect the supply line to the bottom of the tank you can now turn the water valve back on. Turn the water on slowly to ensure that the supply line does not leak. If it does leak check your connection at the tank. once the water is on the tank will fill up with water. The toilet is now operational. Note that you may have to adjust the chain on the lever inside the tank to make sure it lifts the flapper enough for the toilet to flush. At this point you can now install your toilet seat with the plastic bolts supplied and enjoy your new toilet.
