How to Make Healthy Baked Chicken Strips

These chicken strips are great for a lot of reasons.First they are kid freindly , tasty and less expensive than pre-made frozen chicken strips you can get in the store. They are a lot more healthy and finally they freeze well so you can make a lot at once and freeze them to use at a later time. They also bake from frozen in under 20 minutes.   • chicken breast
  • eggs
  • flour breadcrumbs
  • canola oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

      Pound chicken until it is 3/4 inch thick then slice chicken into 1 inch strips.

      Get three separate containers. Season the flour with salt and pepper. Crack the egg into a bowl and whisk with a few drops of water. In a third dish put breadcrumbs.

      Put chicken in flour first then egg wash and then breadcrumbs. Use one hand for dry ingredients and one hand for wet ingredients.

      In order to freeze do not cook. Set chicken strips in a single layer on sheet pan and freeze uncovered. After one or two hours put in freezer bag and return to freezer.

      To cook from frozen drizzle with canola oil and bake at 400 for 8 minutes on each side. They should be golden brown on each side.

Tips & Warnings

  • These go great with my honey mustars vinaigrette as a healthy alternative to ranch recipe link in resource section. I also like to save old pie tins to set up my breaing station in.

  • When breading try to use one hand for dry ingredients and one hand for wet. This will avoid a lot of mess.
