How to Make Healthy Baked Chicken Strips


These chicken strips are great for a lot of reasons.First they are kid freindly , tasty and less expensive than pre-made frozen chicken strips you can get in the store. They are a lot more healthy and finally they freeze well so you can make a lot at once and freeze them to use at a later time. They also bake from frozen in under 20 minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • chicken breast
  • eggs
  • flour breadcrumbs
  • canola oil
  • salt and pepper
  • Pound chicken until it is 3/4 inch thick then slice chicken into 1 inch strips.

  • Get three separate containers. Season the flour with salt and pepper. Crack the egg into a bowl and whisk with a few drops of water. In a third dish put breadcrumbs.

  • Put chicken in flour first then egg wash and then breadcrumbs. Use one hand for dry ingredients and one hand for wet ingredients.

  • In order to freeze do not cook. Set chicken strips in a single layer on sheet pan and freeze uncovered. After one or two hours put in freezer bag and return to freezer.

  • To cook from frozen drizzle with canola oil and bake at 400 for 8 minutes on each side. They should be golden brown on each side.

Tips & Warnings

  • When breading try to use one hand for dry ingredients and one hand for wet. This will avoid a lot of mess.
