Smooth hummus dip makes a wonderful appetizer or snack.

Hummus is a dip or spread primarily made from mashed chickpeas, or garbanzo beans. Although it originated in the Middle East, hummus has become a popular food elsewhere. It is a versatile dip that can be served with pita bread, chips and fresh-cut vegetables. Additionally, its natural ingredients, including garlic and olive oil, make it an healthful option. Hummus can be quickly prepared with the help of a food processor.
