Things You'll Need:
- Patience
- Determination
- A shoulder to cry on
-
Step 1
Breathe. The constant pain and fatigue has probably worn you down. Take some time for yourself. A hot bubble bath not only feels great on muscles sore from fibromyalgia, but it also gives you time to just relax and let the stresses of your life slip away.
-
Step 2
Take your doctor prescribed medications. If you are fortunate to have a doctor who knows the ins and outs of fibromyalgia, listen to them carefully and follow their direction. If you are not so fortunate, find a new doctor. Loyalty to a doctor is not worth sacrificing your comfort and sanity.
-
Step 3
Pump yourself up! Cardio exercise has proven to relieve much of the pain and fatigue associated with fibromyalgia. Start off very slow, perhaps two times per week. The muscle tissue of a person with fibromyalgia does not repair itself normally, so working out too hard too soon can cause more harm than good. Many people find swimming to be the least stressful form of exercise.
-
Step 4
Take your vitamins. Vitamin B Complex helps your body to convert food into energy. People with fibromyalgia have difficulty supplying their cells with enough energy to function normally so taking a vitamin B complex can help to improve general cell function. Magnesium will help improve nerve and muscle function. Taking Omega 3 Fatty Acids has proven to improve hair, skin and many other symptoms plaguing people with fibromyalgia.

Step 5
Diet intelligently. Many foods have been shown to trigger episodes of pain and fatigue in people with fibromyalgia. Foods to avoid include citrus fruits, processed flour, processed sugar, and aspartame. Make sure your diet includes plenty of whole grains, nuts and fish.
