How to Set up a Final Cut Express Project

This how to will give you a tutorial on how to setup a Final Cut Express project. This tutorial, however designed for final cut express, will work on Final Cut Pro.

Things You'll Need:

• Final Cut Express
• Computer

1. 
   Create a new Folder

   The first thing that you need to do is create a new folder on your computer. You will be placing all your projects data and file inside it.

2. 
   File New Project

   Next you need to open up final Cut Express and create a new project. TO create a new project click on file --> new project.

   Click Set

   Then up at the top click on Final Cut Express --> system settings, up in the menu bar. A new window should appear, in the window there should be a row with 4 check marks and a button marked "set". Click on the button and then navigate to the location of the folder you created in step 1. Then press "OK". This is Called Setting Scratch Settings

   Save Project

   4. Save the project by going to the menu bar and clicking "Save Project".

5. 5. Setup is now complete so you may begin to import the footage, just remember to save the footage in the folder.
