Step 1
The 3 R's of the Environment can also lead to an early Retirement.
1. Reduce: Reduce your footprint. Downsize. Live in something smaller & lower or eliminate your mortgage payments. By reducing the size of your home you also reduce electricty costs, heating costs, cooling costs, the amount of furniture you need, just about everything. Less stuff just means less payments, and less cost. The lower your costs, the more you can save. -
Step 2
2. Re-use: Only buy used. Don't buy anything new. Ever. There is enough stuff out there that you never have to buy new. There are enough online resources that make it easy to find whatever you want.
-
Step 3
3. Re-cycle: Find another use for things you have. If not, you can always let someone else recycle by selling on Ebay. ... and finally - sell the car and walk as much as you can.
Funny how what's good for Mother Earth is also good for the pocket book. It would be great if all us boomers could practice these as we move into our retirement age.

on 1/28/2009 Think, if car driving would come to a stop. How would people be able to come to work and buy food? That would be the ultimate of the 3Rs, they are very important. 5*
