How to Treat Termites in Pole Barns with Boracare

I am aware of one effective way to treat termites in a pole barn and I will describe it in this article.

• Boracare

1. Clean out the barn area right down to the floors. All wood surfaces should be easy to get to for the treatment.

2. Purchase several gallons of a product called Boracare. You can buy it on the Internet or locally at the businesses that pest killers buy their supplies at. This is a very safe borax based gel. Borax is used in laundry detergent. It is not harmful to people or animals. It works on the enzymes inside of termites to kill them.

3. Mix the Boracare with warm water at a mix rate of 1/2 water and 1/2 Boracare.

4. 

   Either brush on with a large paint brush or spray on using a garden sprayer. Coat all the posts and beams with the Boracare solution until it drips off. Be sure and saturate all wood. The termites will ingest the Boracare and it will kill them quickly. New ones will not be able to bred and multiply.

Tips & Warnings

• Boracare will soak in and keep the wood safe from termites and wood boring beetles for 20 years!
