Wondering what to give your sister or daughter for a birthday or holiday gift? Here is a list of gift ideas that are available at different price points. You don't have to spend a lot of money to give a thoughtful gift - just think about the personality of the gift recipient and what she might like to receive. Read below to find suggestions for great gifts to give your sister or daughter.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Clothes. Buy a gift card to a clothing retailer that sells the type or brand of clothing that your sister or daughter likes to wear. If you are unsure of the brand, consider giving her a gift card that can be used at any store located within a shopping mall.

  2. Step 2

Jewelry. A pendant necklace or pair of earrings can make a beautiful gift for your recipient. Consider buying gemstones that are associated with the recipient's birth month, a pendant necklace, or gold jewelry in a classic shape, such as chain link or circle jewelry.

  3. Step 3

Sports Equipment. If your sister or daughter practices a sport, then consider buying her new equipment to use, such as a hockey stick, shin guards, or a tennis racket. Alternatively, you can buy memorabilia (such as hats or jerseys) that represent her favorite sport or sports team.

  4. Step 4

Bath and Spa Gift Sets. A bath and spa gift set or gift basket can be a wonderful, easy thing to find (or make) and will make a long-lasting gift for your recipient. Find bath and spa items in her favorite scent. If you are unsure of her favorite scent, consider going for subtle or more popular scents, such as Japanese cherry blossom.

  5. Step 5

A tote bag. If your sister or daughter is fond of carrying tote bags, then find a large tote in her favorite color or that represents an interest or theme, such as volleyball, dogs, or reading.

  6. Step 6

Hobbies. Does your sister or daughter love snowboarding, skiing, knitting, painting, or running? Buy her supplies that are associated with her hobby, such as gloves and winter gear, a set of darning needles and 2 or 3 skeins of yarn, a collection of paint brushes, or a watch that will help her to keep track of time as she runs.

  7. Step 7

Give the gift of music. If your sister or daughter is a music fan, then consider giving her a gift card to download music at iTunes or another Internet music service.

  8. Step 8

Money. When all else fails, money tucked away in a nice card can be a welcome gift to receive. Article text © 2009 by urbandill. All rights reserved
