This article will give you ideas about arranging your subject matter and organizing your time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Space
  • Quiet
  • Books
  • Focus
  • Concentration
  1. Step 1

    Preparation
Studying effectively actually requires a high level of organization and time management. First estimate how much time you will have to study. Assign each subject to a block of time, for example 1 hour for math 1 hour for reading. Add more detail to your subject's block of time for example, math 30 minutes review of homework, 30 minutes completing problems. Adjust the time according to your needs, for example, you may find that you only have enough time to study one subject. Find a space where you can spread out all of your books, and you have few distractions.

  2. Step 2

    Studying
If you have to read an assignment then read the book assigned and take notes on the pages. It is important to read and take notes on the assigned reading as this will give you a head start in understanding the material. Read over the notes that you have taken from your book comparing them with the notes you took in class. Work out any assigned problems that need to be completed, comparing answers to your answer key. Work hard while you have the time to do so.

  3. Step 3

    Routine

Make this sequence a part of your daily studying habits. You will be surprised how much material you can cover is you approach it systematically and with a clear sense of the time you have available.
