Okay, I can't give you an all inclusive guide on how to love, but you already knew that. What I can give you are some simple steps and ideas that might you can use as a simple guide.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Someone to love.
  1. Step 1

Know that you mean it when you say it. When you say "I love you", it should carry something with it. You should be able to feel the feelings behind it. If it's empty, or just something you say, then you know something is off.

  2. Step 2

Love without motive or stipulation. You have to be able to accept someone, unconditionally, to really love them. That means all the faults, too. (You don't have to like them, I never said that, you just have to accept them.) Love means loving unconditionally, and that means not trying to change someone into what you want them to be.

  3. Step 3

Empathize. That means feeling how the other person feel. Putting yourself in their shoes is often difficult, but well worth it. If you both understand how the other person feels, it goes a long ways.

  4. Step 4

Realize that it is fleeting. The object of your love could be lost at any moment. Knowing this is a huge step towards appreciating what you have now. You know the old saying, live like there's no tomorrow. Use it in this context. Love like there's no tomorrow. Just realizing it could be pulled away from you at any moment should make you hold onto it tighter in the now.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try it, you'll like it.
  • Love is sometimes a one way street. You can't make someone love you. Not really. Realize that, it will help.
