Things You'll Need:
- Car
- Spare tire
- Jack
- Wheel chock
- Lug wrench

Step 1
Ensure your car's engine is switched off and parked away from the road and with its hazards flashing. Secure with handbrake.

Collect spare tire, jack, wheel chock and lug wrench from trunk.

Place a wheel chock on the wheel diagonally opposite to the tire being changed. This will stop the car from rolling.

Using the wrench, loosen the wheel nuts holding tire in place. You may first need to remove the hubcap for access.

Refer to your vehicle's owner’s manual to determine jack’s positioning.

Insert the jack handle into its socket. Carefully, turn the handle to raise just until the it comes into contact with vehicle

Step 7
Crank the handle until there is just enough room to fit an inflated tire.

Step 8
Remove the lug nuts by hand and put in a secure and safe place to ensure they are not lost.

Step 9
Using both hands, remove the tire and place to one side.

Step 10
With air valve facing you, line up the new tire with the wheel studs and put into place.

Step 11
Replace wheel nuts by hand. Using the wrentch, tighten in opposite pairs.

Step 12
Lower jack.

Step 13
Tighten wheel nuts using wrench.

Step 14
Remove jack completely.

Step 15
Replace hubcaps if necessary.
