Step 1
To rent a Ferrari in the United States you will need a valid drivers license with your photo. If you are visiting from a foreign country you will need a passport and a valid drivers license from outside of the U.S. Most major U.S cities have agencies that specialize in high end, exotic car rentals. The tourist cities like Las Vegas, New York, Miami and Los Angeles are areas where you can find them the easiest.
-
Step 2
You will need a copy of proof that you have adequate liability insurance. If you don't have enough insurance they will provide it for you for an additional fee. You will need a credit card with $1500 to $5,000 available to be blocked out. Some areas accept cash or a cashiers check to pay for the rental but would still need a credit card to reserve the car.
-
Step 3
Now for the sticker shock. Most places I asked charged about $1,000 to $1,500 a day for a nice Ferrari 360 Spider. An ultimate experience like renting a Ferrari F430 Scuderia or a Ferarri 599 GTB Fiorano would set you back $2,000 a day. Of course these are weekday rates. For $3,500 you could get an entire weekend. About $7,000 will get you a full week.
-
Step 4
Most rentals of exotic sports cars have a 100 mile per day mileage limit. After that you pay 75 cent to $1.00 per mile. You need to be 25 years old for the place I checked. You are the primary driver and can add one other person who is of age and has a valid license for $19.00 to $39.00 per day.
-
Step 5
By the way, no smoking. No off road. No track racing. And oddly enough the contract even said no towing. When was the last time you saw a Ferrari towing a box trailer or Airstream camper down the highway?
-
Step 6
No I don't know what to expect, but check out the rentals in your area or favorite vacation spot, and if I make a few grand extra this year I will have no problem knowing how to spend it all in one place. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
